Vintage String is a band created by Vanessa Buttolph and Diane Hastings. Read more about their unique accomplishments as performers and educators.
Vanessa Buttolph
Born and raised in Amherst, Massachusetts, Vanessa Buttolph studied viola performance at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. She earned her Master’s of Arts in teaching from the Boston Conservatory. She currently holds a string teaching position with the Somerville Public Schools. Vanessa performs with local orchestras and on the national touring stage with artists including Michael Bublé, Josh Groban, and the Trans-Siberian Orchestra.
Diane Hastings
Born and raised in Findlay, Ohio, Diane studied violin performance and music education at Bowling Green State University. Later, she earned her Master’s degree from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. She is the founding director of middle school strings and chorus at St. John’s Preparatory School in Danvers, MA. Diane performs with local orchestras and on the national touring stage with artists including Michael Bublé, Josh Groban, and the Trans-Siberian Orchestra.
